Iran Airports Company registered 164,775 takeoffs and landings during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21-July 22), which shows a 7% rise compared with last year’s corresponding period.
About 20.3 million passengers and 197,819 tons of cargo were transported during the period, indicating a 9% and 11% year-on-year rise respectively, IAC reported on its website.
As for domestic flights, 135,741 takeoffs and landings were registered, up 7% YOY.
More than 16.1 million passengers and 121,500 tons of goods were transported domestically, indicating a 9% and 12% rise respectively over the same period.
On the international front, about 29,000 takeoffs and landings were registered, showing a 5% rise YOY.
A total of 4.2 million passengers and 76,300 tons of cargo were transported to and from overseas destinations, posting an 8% and 9% increase YOY.
Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport was the busiest domestic airport during the period, followed by Mashhad International Airport and Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport.
Iran Airports Company is an arm of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, managing 54 airports across the country.
