84% Rise in Zinc Ingot Output

Bandar Abbas Zinc Production Company exported 4,430 tons of zinc ingots valued at $11.82 million during the first four months of the current fiscal year (March 21-July 22), registering an 84% growth in tonnage compared with last year’s corresponding period, the company’s managing director said. “BPZC produced 4,500 tons of the material during the period, up 81% year-on-year,” Alireza Razaei added. Located in the southern Hormozgan Province, BPZC has the capacity to produce 18,000 tons of zinc ingots annually, IRNA reported. Zinc ingot is used in auto manufacture and galvanized flat steel production.
