The goods and services Consumer Price Index for rural areas in the 12-month period ending July 22, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Tir, increased by 8.8% compared with last year’s corresponding period, the Statistical Center of Iran reported. The SCI had reported an 8.5% rural inflation for the preceding Iranian month. The overall rural CPI (using Iranian year to March 2012) stood at 263.1 in Tir, indicating a 1.3% increase compared with the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 9.7% compared with last year’s similar month.
