Iranian Ports Capacity on the Rise

Cargo handling capacity in Iranian ports increased 17% during the administration of President Hassan Rouhani, the head of Iran Ports and Maritime Organization said, adding that port capacity increased from 180 million tons in the fiscal year to March 2014, when Rouhani took office, to 210 million tons last year. “With the operationalization of development projects in major Iranian ports, the capacity is expected to reach 250 million tons within the next four years,” Mohammad Saeednejad was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
