Iran Airports Company registered 121,688 takeoffs and landings during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 21), which shows a 6% rise compared with the similar period of last year.

IAC’s report on its website added that the year-on-year growth rate stood at 8% for the first two months of the year (March 21-May 21) and 10% for the first month (March 21-April 20).

The latest report shows 14.9 million passengers and 145,500 tons of cargo were transported during the three-month period, indicating an 8% and 9% YOY growth respectively.

As for domestic flights, 100,100 takeoffs and landings were registered, up 6% YOY.

Close to 11.9 million passengers and 89,600 tons of goods were transported domestically, indicating an 8% and 10% growth YOY.

On the international front, about 21,600 takeoffs and landings were registered, up 4% YOY.

A total of 3 million passengers and 55,800 tons of cargo were transported to and from overseas destinations, posting a 5% and 6% growth YOY.

Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport was the busiest domestic airport during the period, followed by Mashhad International Airport and Tehran’s Imam Khomeini International Airport.

Iran Airports Company is an arm of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development that manages 54 airports across the country.
