Iran imported 510,000 tons of oil and non-oil goods through its land borders during the three months to June 21. Exports from land borders during the same period stood at 1.653 million tons. The figures indicate an 8% and 1% growth in imports and exports respectively compared with last year’s corresponding period, Faramarz Maddah, an official with the Roads Maintenance and Transportation Organization, said.
“About 62% of the imports were made through the western Bazargan border crossing, making it the most active border during the three-month period followed by southeast Mirjaveh and northern Astara border crossings with 14% and 10% respectively,” Maddah told IRNA.
With regard to exports, Bazargan border crossing also had the highest share with 23%, with 22% and 9% of the goods exported from Milak in southeast and Dogharoun in northeast respectively.
