More than 650,000 tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in the southern port of Bushehr in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 21), the head of Bushehr Province’s Ports and Maritime Organization said. “This was equal to 48,000 20-foot equivalent units, which indicate a 91% rise compared to the year before,” Mohammad Mehdi Bonchari was also quoted as saying by the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development’s news service. More than 50% of Iran’s maritime trade take place via Bushehr Province that has a 937-kilometer coastline alongside the Persian Gulf.
