Close to 235,000 tons of goods valued at 651 billion rials ($17.2 million) were exported from Bandar Lengeh in the southern Hormozgan Province during the three months to June 22, recording a %73 rise in tonnage compared with the corresponding period of last year, according to Safar Sheibani, the head of Bandar Lengeh Customs Administration.

The exports mainly included fruits, vegetables, nuts, plaster and industrial salt, IRNA reported.

More than 51,000 tons of goods worth $160,887 were imported into the Iranian port city from China and the UAE during the same period. The imports mainly included cars, plywood, fiber, legume, computer parts, fabrics and home appliances.

Goods transit during the period under review stood at 37,052 tons, indicating a 156% increase year-on-year. The transited goods mainly included vehicles destined for Turkmenistan, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Sheibani put Bandar Lengeh Customs Administration’s revenues during the three months at $21.32 million.

Bandar Lengeh is situated along the coast of Persian Gulf.
