Fishing Ban in Bushehr

The Department of Fishing in Bushehr has placed a ban on all fishing activities in the southern province’s waters in the Persian Gulf as of July 7 until the start of shrimp fishing season, Abbas Ahangar Moqaddam, an official with the department, has announced. Bushehr is home to 12,000 fishermen and 1,200 fishing vessels. The shrimp fishing season in Bushehr begins in August and lasts for about 45 days, IRNA reported.
