$23b Worth of Chemical, Cellulose Exports Planned

The Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade plans to export $23 billion worth of chemical and cellulose products in the current Iranian year (March 2017-18), an official with the ministry said. “The two industries’ exports stood at $18 billion last year (March 2016-17), which was about 34.5% more than the year before and accounted for 42% of all Iranian non-oil exports (including petrochemicals),” Parvin Nabati was also quoted as saying by IRNA. According to Nabati, Iran has 19,700 chemical and cellulose manufacturing factories, employing a total of 448,000 people.
