Services exported in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2017) stood at $13.28 billion, registering a 1.3% decline compared with the previous year, Trade Promotion Organization of Iran reported.

Exports of technical and engineering services and those of information technology services accounted for $2.18 billion and $180 million of the total sum, registering a 3% and 44% decline compared with the year before respectively.

About $8.32 billion were earned from tourism and more than $2.59 billion from air, marine, road and rail transit, indicating an 11% rise and 23% fall respectively.

Services export refers to any service provided by a resident in one country to people or companies of another.
