Iran’s non-oil exports to Taiwan saw a 206% hike in the last fiscal year (March 2016-17) compared with the year before to stand at $551 million. The East Asian country became Iran’s 10th biggest export destination last year, up from 22nd in the preceding year, a report by Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture said. A 62-member delegation of TCCIM visited Taiwan last September and attended the Iran Business Opportunity Day event in Taipei. While there, the chamber’s president, Masoud Khansari, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, known as TAITRA–a semi-official organization devoted to promotion of Taiwan’s foreign trade.
