Some 24 trillion rials (about $892 million at official exchange rate) of investments are annually required to mechanize the agriculture sector, including horticulture, livestock, and poultry and fish industries, Kambiz Abbasi, head of mechanization center of the ministry of agriculture, said in a conference held in East Azarbaijan on Monday. “Building buffers for domestic manufacturers of agricultural machinery is on the agenda of the ministry,” he said. The ministry also aims to launch a second credit line worth eight trillion rials to improve mechanization, he added.
