Bilateral trade between Iran and Italy in the first three months of 2017 stood at €1.2 billion, making Italy the biggest trading partner of Iran in the European Union over the period, IRNA reported, citing the EU's statistical service Eurostat. France and Germany followed Italy.
Iran's exports to Italy accounted for about €800 million of the total sum, while Italy's exports to Iran stood at €400 million, indicating a turning point as bilateral trade balance tilted in Iran's favor for the first time in 10 years.
