Iran will put out a tender within a month to finance the plane deals it has finalized with major planemakers, a deputy minister of roads and urban development announced on Monday.

“Ten companies from Japan, Norway, Denmark, China, Ireland and Britain have already expressed readiness to participate in the tender,” Asghar Fakhrieh-Kashan was also quoted as saying by ministry's news website.

Iran’s flag carrier Iran Air has signed contracts worth dozens of billions of dollars with European plane manufacturer Airbus, its American rival Boeing and the French-Italian manufacturer of regional aircraft to purchase a total of 200 planes.

The financing of these deals hit a rough patch amid major international banks’ fears of being penalized by the United States.

The flag carrier has already received three of the new Airbus planes it had ordered, including a single-aisle A321 and two wide-body A330s. Airbus has financed the first few planes on its own.
