Director of Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization, Ali Jahangiri, said on Sunday that only Iranian nationals are authorized to import aircraft. Iran recently lifted restrictions over the import of civil aircraft, authorizing the private sector and entities to import planes. “The imported aircraft should meet the standards set by the aviation organization. Private firms and individuals can hold the ownership of the imported aircraft as long as “they are deemed eligible”. He said the new law is aimed at supporting civil aviation.
