A new ATR plane will be the first to land in Iran within a week, the CEO of Iran Air, Farhad Parvaresh, announced on Monday, as reported by the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development’s news service.

It will be the first delivery out of a massive order the flag carrier placed with the Franco-Italian planemaker.

The contract signed in April to purchase 20 turboprop regional aircraft is worth $400 million based on catalogue prices.

ATR said in April that it will deliver nine ATR 72-600s in 2017 and the rest in 2018, adding that four of the aircraft would arrive within a month after the contract was signed.

The ATR contract came after Iran Air’s firm deals with Airbus and Boeing to buy a total of 180 aircraft. So far, the Iranian company has received three Airbus aircraft.
