Kashan exports about 2,000 tons of rosewater and rose oil every year, accounting for 70% of Iran's total exports of these products, to the Persian Gulf littoral states and European Union countries, the governor of the city said. Hamid Reza Momenian also put the value of Kashan’s rosewater exports at around $14 million per annum and said it is expected that 7,000 tons of damask rose–the main species used in making rosewater–will be harvested from 2,500 hectares of land in the central Iranian city, IRNA reported.
