About 90,000 tons of trout were produced in Iran in the last fiscal year that ended on March 20, 2017, the head of Iran’s Union of Seafood Reproduction, Cultivation and Exports said.
“The figure shows no significant change compared with the previous year,” Arsalan Qasemi was also quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency.
According to Arash Nabizadeh, the managing director of Cold Water Fish Farmers Association, Iran accounts for 16% of the global production of freshwater fish.
