600,000 Public Vehicle Road Trips in Holidays

During the holidays on March 15-April 2, as many as 6,939,634 passengers took to public road transport passenger vehicles (buses, minibuses, middle-buses and for-hire intercity passenger cars) to make 604,508 trips.

This was announced by Hamid-Reza Shahraki, an official with Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization, IRNA reported.

“Bus travel accounted for 35% of the total number of trips made and 4,266,361 passengers chose to travel using this public vehicle,” he said.

“About 17% of the trips were made by minibuses and middle-buses that transported 1,546,328 passengers. For-hire intercity passenger cars accounted for 48% of all the trips to transport 1,126,945 passengers.”
