As of the new Iranian year (started March 21), those who employ undocumented immigrants will be fined five times the minimum daily wage, the director general of Immigrant Employment Office with the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare said.

“The amount of fine is set at 1.55 million rials (close to $41.2) for the current year. If the regulation is violated again, the amount will be doubled. These employers will also be sentenced to 1 to 90 days in prison,” Ali Eqbali was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
