Potato exports have increased 143% in the first five months of the current Iranian year, which started March 21, compared to the same period last year. Over the period, the country exported 77,700 tons of potato worth $30.9 million. The government this year eliminated the tariff on potato which is currently exported at $0.4 per kilogram. Pakistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, UAE, Bahrain, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Oman, Russia, and Kazakhstan are the main destinations for Iranian potato exports.
