Payam Special Economic Zone generated 4 trillion rials ($106.66 million) in revenues in the current Iranian year, registering a 100% rise compared with the corresponding period of last year, said the managing director of SEZ, Saeed Zarandi.
Payam Special Economic Zone—owned by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology—is located in Alborz Province adjacent to Tehran and currently hosts electronic manufacturers of televisions. The zone is also the site of a small airport that is projected to become the capital’s third most active airport in the next decade.
