Large multinational information technology companies headquartered in Germany, Italy, and the UAE have expressed interest in investing in Iran, an official from the Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) of Iran told IRNA on Wednesday. “These companies are mainly interested in conducting joint investment in the field of information technology in a bid to acquire a share in the Iranian market,” Mehrdad Jalalipour said. He added that delegations from these countries plan to attend Elecomp 2014, the International Conference on Electronics, Computer, and e-Commerce, which is scheduled to be held at the Tehran International Permanent Fairground, December 7-10. Jalalipour, however, did not reveal any other details regarding the foreign companies planning to invest in Iran’s IT sector.
