Industrial exports grew 13.66% in the third quarter of the current Iranian year (Sept. 22-Dec. 20, 2016) compared with the same period of last year, but fell 6.33% over the second quarter, the Statistical Center of Iran reported. Imports of industrial products increased 18.79% over the same quarter of last year and 46.89% compared with the previous quarter. Exports by “Agriculture, Hunting and Forestry” sector saw a 2.21% growth in Q3 compared with the same period of last year and 42.57% over the previous quarter. Imports by this sector registered a decline of 11.61% compared with the same quarter of last year, but a growth of 18.87% over Q2. Exports by the fishing industry posted an 88.48% growth in fall compared with the corresponding period of last year and a 93.6% increase compared with summer. This comes as seafood imports saw an 85.44% decline year-on-year and fell 54.52% over the previous season. Mining exports in the third quarter indicate a growth of 23.24% over last year’s similar period and an increase of 10.74% compared with summer. Mining imports grew by 17.34% year-on-year and by 77.36% over the previous quarter.
