The detergents and cosmetics market is worth 200 trillion rials (about $5.2 billion) per year, the deputy head of Detergents and Cosmetics Association of Iran, Mohammad Nilforoushan, said.
“At present, domestic production meets 100% of demand for detergents in Iran. However, the share is only 20% for cosmetics. Contraband products are flooding the market, much to the detriment of domestic producers and people’s health,” he was quoted as saying by Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture’s news portal.
