The governor of Kenya’s second largest city of Mombasa, Ali Hassan Joho, welcomed a delegation of Iranian investors on Tuesday after initial negotiations were held between the two sides in 2016.
The advanced talks would see one of the top industrial groups from Iran set up a metal sheet plant in Mombasa, Mombasa News reported on Wednesday.
Joho said this would provide huge job opportunities in Kenya.
“Through collaboration with local universities in Mombasa, the investors will introduce and support technical expertise in various engineering fields further expanding opportunities,” the governor said on Tuesday.
Other areas of mutual interest are agriculture, processing industries (food and chemicals) and construction.
