CBI Puts  Inflation at 8.6%

The average goods and services Consumer Price Index for urban areas in the 12 months ending January 19, which marks the end of the Iranian month of Dey, increased by 8.6% compared with last year’s corresponding period. According to the latest report released by the Central Bank of Iran, the inflation rate for the preceding month of Azar, which ended on December 20, 2016, was also 8.6%.  The overall CPI (using 2011 as the base year) stood at 254.9 in Dey, indicating a 0.8% growth compared with the previous month. The index registered a year-on-year increase of 9.6% compared with the similar month of last year.  The CBI report came after the Statistical Center of Iran put Dey’s inflation at 6.9%.
