The National Confederation of Entrepreneurs Organization of Azerbaijan and the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture have signed a memorandum of understanding.

The signing took place within the framework of the Azerbaijani-Iranian business forum held in Baku on Tuesday, Trend News Agency reported.

More than 200 entrepreneurs representing agricultural, construction, food, pharmaceutical, car manufacture, tourism, trade and insurance industries participated in the forum.

Speaking at the business forum, Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev noted that economic relations between Azerbaijan and Iran are at a high level.

“According to the data for the first 11 months of this year, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Iran grew by 60%, which is a good indicator,” he said.

“Iran can always use the services of our logistics center created in Aktau city, our technology parks and industrial districts.”

Iran’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi, accompanied by a 100-member delegation, is in Baku to attend the 11th meeting of Iran-Azerbaijan Economic Commission, which opened in Baku on Tuesday and ran for a second day on Wednesday. The third day of the session will be held in Nakhchivan on Thursday.

The minister is also scheduled to meet with Azeri President Ilham Aliyev, IRNA reported.
