11% Rise in Hormozgan Ports’ Throughput

Around 64.3 million tons of goods were loaded and unloaded in Hormozgan’s ports during the eight months to November 20, registering an 11% rise compared with last year’s corresponding period, the director general of Ports and Maritime Organization of the southern Iranian province said. “From the 64.3 million tons, 40.8 million tons pertained to non-oil commodities and 23.5 million to oil products, indicating a 15% and 4% growth respectively,” Allahmorad Afifipour was also quoted as saying by PMO’s news portal. Afifipour added that 23.4 million tons of non-oil commodities and 9.9 million tons of oil products were exported from the province, up 37% and 18% year-on-year respectively, Mehr News Agency reported.
