The deal with French plane manufacturer Airbus for purchasing more than 100 jets will be finalized by Friday, Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi said. “The number of planes and financing details will be disclosed on the day the contract will be signed,” the minister was quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency on Sunday. The minister’s remarks come a week after flag carrier Iran Air finalized a $16.6-billion contract to purchase 80 planes from Boeing. Akhoundi’s deputy, Asghar Fakhrieh-Kashan, said on Saturday Iran is expecting 12 planes, including Airbus and ATR jets, to be delivered in 2017.
