Iran exported close to 1.8 million tons of non-oil goods valued at $707 million to Japan during the eight months to November 20. The value of exports in last year’s corresponding period stood at only $27 million, latest statistics released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show. The hike is mainly due to the rising export of gas condensates from Iran after the lifting of economic sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program in January. Apart from gas condensates, exports mainly included carpets, pistachio, saffron, vegetable seeds and figs.
