Exports to Iraq through Mehran’s border terminal, located in the west of Ilam Province, amounted to about $1.56 billion during the eight months to November 21.

These indicate a 75% increase compared with the corresponding period of last year, according to the deputy head of the Industries, Mining and Trade Organization of the western Iranian province that borders Iraq.

“The main exported items were agricultural products, foodstuff, cement, construction material, automobiles, plastic and petrochemical products and polyethylene,” Jamil Shohani was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
