Iran exported 2.6 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $1.35 billion to Afghanistan during the seven months to October 21, registering a 12% decline compared with last year’s corresponding period. Petrochemicals, carpet, apple, pistachio, tomato paste, dates and chocolate were among the main exports, according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration. Some 12,000 tons valued at $13 million were imported from the neighboring country, which indicate a 21% rise year-on-year. The imports mainly included sesame, silk cocoon, coke, lentil and vegetables.
