More than two million rural housing units have been renovated since the begining of the 4th Five-Year Development Plan in 2005, Azizollah Mahdian, the deputy of rural houses’ renovation affairs of the Housing Foundation of Islamic Revolution told IRNA on Sunday. Noting that 200,000 housing units in rural areas are set to be renovated every year, the official vowed that the majority of the houses will be renovated by 2022. There are more than 5 million rural houses in Iran, according to Mahdian.
