Iran to Export 3m Tons of Wheat

Some 3 million tons of wheat will be exported to Asian and European countries as well as the Persian Gulf littoral states in the current Iranian year (March 2016-17), says deputy minister of agriculture, Ali Qanbari. “We have had surplus production this year and our silos are well stocked. The government will issue the export permits in the next 10 days,” Qanbari was quoted as saying by IRNA on Monday. A record high of more than 14 million tons of wheat was domestically produced this year.
