30% of Agro Products Wasted

Some 30% of Iran’s agricultural products are wasted, the head of Agriculture and Natural Resources Engineering Organization said. The amount is enough to feed 25 million people, Alireza Bozorgi also told the Persian daily Jomhouri-e-Eslami. Earlier, Mohammad Reza Sepehri, the head of the Institute of Labor and Social Security, said nearly half of all the fruit produced in Iran is wasted due to improper packaging, inflicting over $10 billion of losses on the economy.
