A trade delegation from Italy's Lombardy region is scheduled to arrive in Tehran on November 12.
The mission will comprise representatives of 25 Italian firms surveying opportunities for bilateral cooperation with their Iranian counterparts in a wide range of fields, including agriculture, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, furniture, industrial equipment, automotives, water and sewage systems, garbage recycling, cosmetics and infrastructure.
Exports to Iran from the Lombardy region amounted to more than €266 million during the first half of 2016, registering a 27% increase compared with the corresponding period of last year, IRNA reported.
Lombardy accounts for over 40% of Italy's total exports to Iran, with machinery being the main exported item.
