Livestock, Dairy Trade Balance Improves

Iran’s trade surplus in the livestock and dairy sectors has witnessed a significant hike in recent years. The sectors have registered a combined positive trade balance of $450 million since the beginning of the current Iranian year (started March 20), Deputy Agriculture Minister Hassan Rokni said on Saturday. According to the official, the figure stood at $15 million the year Hassan Rouhani took office as Iran’s president. Since the beginning of the current fiscal year, Iran has produced 9.6 million tons of milk, 820,000 tons of meat and 2.1 million tons of chicken, IRNA reported.
