Iran-Russia Economic Commission to Convene in Dec.

The 13th meeting of Iran-Russia Economic Commission will be held in Tehran in December, IRNA reported, quoting Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov as saying in a press conference held jointly with Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Syrian counterpart, Walid Muallem, in Moscow on October 28. The previous meeting of the joint commission was held in Moscow on November 12, 2015. Iran’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi and Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak, who co-chaired the session, signed several agreements on energy, maritime and banking cooperation. Lavrov said on Friday trade turnover between Russia and Iran in the first eight months of 2016 was 1.5 times higher than that during the same period of last year.
