Some 14 million passengers have travelled via railroad since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 20), according to Mir Hassan Mousavi, an official with the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways. “Last year, 25 million passengers used rail transport,” he added. Iran’s 20-Year National Vision Plan (2005-25) stipulates that the number of passengers using rail transport will increase to 65 million by 2025, IRNA reported.
