Close to $1.2 billion worth of toothpaste are imported into Iran every year, accounting for 75% of the domestic need for the product, a member of the Iranian Detergent, Hygienic Products and Cosmetics Industries Association said.
“Some 300 million tubes of toothpaste are consumed in the country per annum, only 25% of which are produced domestically,” Mohammad Doulabi was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
