The parliament speaker has criticized the overreliance of the economy on oil sales, saying that dependence on oil and gas revenues has impeded economic growth, as Shana reported. Speaking in Mashhad at a conference on the Resistance Economy, Ali Larijani said the economy is suffering from a chronic disease now because the revenues from oil exports have not been used properly. In his remarks on Thursday, he also urged the government to accelerate the implementation of Article 44 of the Constitution (the privatization law) which is in par with resistance policies outlined by the Leader of the Islamic Republic.
