Some 500 tons of day-old chicken worth 11.8 billion rials (nearly $3.3 million at market exchange rate) were exported during the first half of the current Iranian fiscal year, registering a 30.5% and 15% rise in weight and value respectively compared with the corresponding period of last year, according to the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.

The main export destinations were Afghanistan (152 tons), Turkmenistan (137 tons), Azerbaijan (58 tons) and Iraq (10 tons), ISNA reported.
