Iran exported 998 tons of chewing gum worth 157.6 billion rials ($4.39 million at market exchange rate) in the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 20). The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration said the figure shows a 15% rise in weight and a 4.2% rise in value compared with the same period of last year, ISNA reported. Main export destinations were Afghanistan and Iraq. Italy is the only European customer of Iran’s chewing gum.
