More than 39.2 million tons of oil and non-oil goods were loaded and unloaded in Shahid Rajaie Port in southern Iran during the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 20). This indicates a 25% rise compared with the similar period of last year, according to the director general of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Department. “Close to 16.5 million tons of non-oil goods were exported and almost 4.5 million tons of such goods were imported via the port in this period, indicating a 53% rise and a 10% decrease respectively compared with the corresponding period of last year,” Ebrahim Idani was quoted as saying by IRNA. The official added that the H1 export of oil products from the port amounted to over 4.5 million tons, which shows a 53% increase.  Also, more than 1.8 million tons of oil products were imported into the country during the same period. Idani noted that nearly 2.2 million tons of goods were transited via the port, registering a 2% increase. Container loading and unloading amounted to close to 41,500 TEUs, as more than 2,000 vessels berthed at the port and registered a 28% and 5% increase respectively, year-on-year.
