For the first time in Iranian history, malt extract has been domestically manufactured in the country, Ali Rahmani, a manager of a domestic malt producing company told ISNA on Wednesday. “Producing malt extract was previously exclusive to foreign countries, while it is possible for us to create new brands as well as new jobs and prevent the outflow of foreign exchange abroad,” he said. Becoming self-sufficient in producing malt extract can reduce the demand for large quantities of malt, which is imported into the country for non-alcoholic beverage production.
