More than 618,000 households have participated in the online registration of the eighth round of the National Population and Housing Census that began on Saturday up until 6 a.m. on Friday, the head of Statistical Center of Iran said. “Considering that each Iranian household has an average of 3.5 members, so far over 2 million people have registered in this year’s census,” Omid Ali Parsa was also was quoted as saying by Mehr News Agency. The official noted that Semnan, Kohgilouyeh-Boyerahmad, Bushehr, South Khorasan, Kurdestan and Esat Azarbaijan are provinces with the highest participation rates. The census, which began on September 24 and runs through November 15, will be conducted in two phases: online registration (Sept. 24-Oct. 15) and door-to-door survey (Oct. 16-Nov. 15).
