Orange Production to Reach 2.5m Tons

Orange production is estimated to reach 2.5 million tons by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2017), according to the Ministry of Agriculture. Of this figure, 200,000 tons are expected to be exported by the yearend, Mehr News Agency reported. According to Hossein Safaei, the head of Central Organization of Rural Cooperative of Iran, Iran holds a 4% share in global orange production.
