Population, Housing Census Begins

The eighth round of National Population and Housing Census begins today and will run through November 15. According to the head of Statistical Center of Iran, Omid Ali Parsa, this round will be conducted in two phases: online registration (September 24-October 15) and door-to-door survey (October 16-November 15).
“Given the 45% Internet penetration rate in Iran, 35% of households are expected to register for the census online,” Parsa was quoted as saying by IRNA.
Up until 2011, the national census was conducted every 10 years, but was later decided to be held every five years. SCI provides the fund for conducting the national survey.
